Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

• Account information: email address, name, display name (optional), and authentication data (password hash, passkeys, Google / Apple sign-in identifiers)
• Learning data: answers, progress, mastery/ratings, accuracy, streaks, achievements, and other learning records
• User-generated content: audio recordings for speaking grading, text submissions for composition grading, and messages to the AI tutor
• Technical information: cookies for session, language, and furigana settings, plus minimal operational logs such as error logs
• Payment information: your subscription status. We do not store card numbers; payments are processed by Apple, Stripe, and RevenueCat

2. How we use information

• To provide the Service and to grade your work and return feedback
• To personalize problem selection based on spaced repetition and difficulty
• For authentication, account management, and subscription management
• To improve content and maintain quality
• To prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations

3. AI processing

To grade composition and speaking and to power the AI tutor, we send your text submissions, audio recordings, and conversation content to Google’s Gemini API for processing. The data is used to generate grading and feedback.

4. Third parties and processors

We engage the following providers to process data only as needed to operate the Service:

• Database / infrastructure: Neon, Cloudflare (audio storage), Google Cloud (app hosting)
• AI grading and tutor: Google (Gemini API)
• Email: Resend
• Payments: Apple (App Store billing), Stripe, RevenueCat

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use ad networks or third-party tracking.

5. Tracking and advertising

The Service does not track you. We do not use advertising SDKs or advertising cookies (our iOS Privacy Manifest also declares “no tracking”).

6. Cookies

We use only functionally necessary cookies, such as those for keeping you signed in, your language setting, and your furigana display setting. We do not use advertising cookies.

7. Data retention

We retain the above data while your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete it within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

8. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or suspension of use of your personal information. To do so, contact us at support@sensei-sullivan.com.

9. International data transfers

Some of the providers above may host servers outside Japan. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers as necessary.

10. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13. If a child uses the Service, they should do so with the consent of a parent or guardian.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, leakage, and loss.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as needed. If there are material changes, we will notify you within the Service.
